When will Canada and the United States go to the World Cup Finals again?

The disappointment and the criticisms that coincided with the United States failure to make the 2018 Men’s World Cup was colossal. The USMNT has been there every time since 1990.

Canada has been to the World Cup just once (1986).

The United States will go again – probably in 2022. Canada will go again, but probably not in 2022.

So what are the problems and the solutions?

Is Landon letting down his World Cup teammates as well as American Soccer?

Landon Donovan has been the best American soccer player over the past decade.  In recent months he has taken a break from soccer and doesn’t plan to be back until April at the earliest.

This begs the question: Is Landon letting down his World Cup teammates as well as American Soccer?  The US World Cup team is already one result down in the hexagonal play for the World Cup 2014 with two more games coming up in March. More info
