As I was searching the Internet the other day I came across
a website called Soccer-for-Parents – www.soccer-for-parents.com .
The person who set it up is called Randy Gardner and he and
his family live in Kingsport,
TN.
I don’t know Randy, but in some respects I do. He got
into coaching when his eldest son, Dustin, began playing soccer at age-7.
Randy had never played soccer, didn’t know the rules and did not know how to
coach. Those involved with grassroots soccer will recognize the likes of Randy and
the great job people like him do.
If you go to his site you will see he has learned a whole
lot about soccer since 1999 and has provided plenty of first-class information
for soccer parents and coaches. There is a commercial aspect to the site
as he has affiliations with a number of soccer companies and
amazon.com, but there is a ton of useful content about the game at absolutely
no cost.
Might be worth bookmarking the site - www.soccer-for-parents.com.
